London South Bank University (LSBU) men's Basketball team in Euros.

LSBU will represent Britain at the 8th European Universities Basketball Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia this week.

LSBU will compete against 21 Universities from across Europe, including respective champions from Portugal, Germany, France, Poland, Russia, Croatia and others.

European competition has been the culmination of an ambitious 3 year plan for LSBU Basketball – taking them from Tier 2 in 05/06 by way of Shield winners, Tier 1 champions, and into the BUCS Premier League for the first time this season - in 2008 they beat three-times winners and incumbent champions Worcester in the play-off final in Sheffield.

Andy Powlesland, Director of the Academy of Sport at LSBU, said: “Becoming BUCS Championship winners this year has been the catalyst for some individual success stories, and I am extremely pleased that our student-athletes are gaining representative honors with English Universities”
