Damon Dash, the fashion mogul and former co-owner of Roc-A-Fella Records plans to launch a clothing brand entitled "CEO", which will reflect the image desired by a clean cut, mature audience.

The CEO brand will be premium positioned and is due for release later on this year. It is going to be of a tailored look, capturing the essence of the word 'classic'.

"I'm an old school dude, not very trendy. So, if people are not dressed the way I'm dressed, I'm going to make clothes that reflect that," Dash said at the Magic Trade Show in Las Vegas. "I've always been an oak, and I say that to say that the same thing that I'm wearing now, I could have been wearing in '85 and '95."

"I thought it would be interesting to have someone from the urban marketplace to attack fashion from that aspect - not regular fashion, but couture. I've learned a lot about fashion, not just urban fashion," Dash said. "It's a different work ethic."

In addition to the CEO clothing line, Dash will also launch a clothing component to his successful Pro Keds footwear line in Autumn/Winter 2007. This affordable range of clothing will enable consumers to colour match their shoes a lot easier.
